Any body have iPhone 4S on iOS 5.0.1 should check their build number and Downgrade from build 9A406 to 9A405 while Apple is still signing both builds. and that is because the differences in the basebands, its more likely that an unlock will be found for the earlier build than the later.

what if it was bought from the apple store? already unlocked and on 9A406
this is only for people who DO NOT have factory unlocked devices and are relying on a modem firmware(base band) unlock.. if yours is factory unlocked, you should have no need to maintain basebands or wait to update for ultrasn0w unlocks(but should hold off on updates for jailbreaks).
@ kaiya215 if its already unlocked(factory) then u have no business even following this post… This does NOT apply to your specific device.
iphone4s verizon will be unlocked for other carrier by jailbreaking when it is released???

Download Ipsw for iOS 5.01 it is 9A405 ok do restore by connecting to iTunes
And holding shift wile clicking on restore button on iTunes … Navigate to your 9A405 Ipsw ( should be in your download folder ) select it and restore
Bingo it’s downgraded this only works cause apple is still signing both.

WARNING: All the data on your iPhone will be cleared and it will be reset to factory defaults.
Turn off the iPhone (you can hold down the Sleep button, or use Sleep + Home, and release as soon as the screen shuts off).
Hold down the Home button while connecting to your computer with iTunes already open and ready for a connection.
iTunes will prompt you to perform a software restore.
Your iPhone will obviously be wiped new and be reset as a result and you wil have a working iPhone again.
