Dev-team has just pushed Redsn0w 0.9.10 b1 to jailbreak 5.0.1 untethered on iPhone 4, 3GS, iPod touch 4G, 3G and iPad 1. Pod2g was the guy behind 5.0.1 untethered jailbreak, as he handed over his project to both Chronic Dev-team and iPhone Dev-team.
The two teams have made a major task on 5.0.1 untethered jailbreak. iPhone Dev-team have put 5.0.1 untethered in to RedsnOw 0.9.10 b1 and PwnageTool. Chronic Dev-team put untethered 5.0.1 jailbreak into a Cydia package, thanks Pod2g and the both teams for making us happy.
Before starting to jailbreak 5.0.1untethered on iPhone 4, 3GS, iPod touch 4G, 3G and iPad – You have to know this :
Supported devices :
- iPhone 4 (GSM – CDMA)
- iPhone 3GS
- iPod touch 4G
- iPod touch 3G
- iPad 1
- If you have one of those devices and are not on 5.0.1 yet, update now! The SHSH window is still open for 5.0.1 If you unlock via ultrasn0w or gevey, make sure you only get to 5.0.1 via a custom IPSW! Once you’re at 5.0.1, use the latest redsn0w 0.9.10 to both jailbreak and untether.
- If you’re already at 5.0.1 with a tethered jailbreak, you have two choices: either run redsn0w 0.9.10 over your current jailbreak (deselect “Install Cydia” if you do that), or install the Cydia package prepared by the chronic devteam. The patches are the same regardless of which you choose.
- Some of you are using a hybrid 5.0/5.0.1 configuration. If so, do not attempt to install this untether over that setup! You will most likely get into a reboot cycle. Do a sync and fresh restore to 5.0.1 then install the jailbreak + untether.

I have a iphone 4 baseband 04.11.08 IOS 5.0.1 just made the jailbreak and
When i try to run corona i have an error : Error getting required file for applying patch. Aborting
X Subprocess post-instalation script returned error exit status 1
X sub process /usr/bin/dpkg returned an error code (1)
Does anyone have the same issue
dont install corona untether. use only jailbereak with redsnow.

the people using hybrid don’t have to restore….. they just have to select ipsw for 5.0.1 and press just boot in the OLD Redsn0w and then download the cydia package for untethered… no need for the newer redsn0w at all
dosn’t work for me, redsnow keep crashing before installation is finished (iPad1, WinXp, iTunes 10.5.2.11)
If redsn0w crashes……….first of all make sure you move unzip the folder to your desktop, check the task manager that no redsnow is running, if found stop the process. If this does not work reboot the pc and make sure you run the program as administrator.you right click redsn0w and go to the properties…check under compatibility tab and security tab and make changes accordingly.

I jailbroke mine using the untethered version of redsn0w. but when i restarted my ipod 4g, everything works except safari and cydia. help.
I successfully installed the jailbreak 3 times but after putting the installous repo in. After every reboot my phone would just hang on the apple logo. So I’ve had to do the factory restore 3 times. Anybody got any pointers ive been doing jailbreaks since the days of ios3 so this is really frustrating :-/

Same problem. This morning i updated my ip4 from ios4.3.3 to ios 5.0.1.. This evening i tried to jailbreak using latest Redsn0w 0.9.10b4. After jailbreak and when it reboot, it stuck at apple logo, after few second the screen blank, after that again the apple logo appear again and again the same thing continues… What should we do? I think many people also facing the same problem… Anyone can help? Plsssss…

Hi guys
this is the second time this has happened today.
earlier this morning i jail broke untethered successfully. installed cydia and a whole bunch of JB apps no problems. ran for a few hours with no issues.
then on a reboot – it got stuck on the apple boot logo. couldn’t do a thing to get it to actually boot up. so i did a complete restore through iTunes which is a complete pain.
so anyway, after the restore i jail broke the device again, this time on one of the first reboots the same thing happens – it crashes on the apple logo boot screen. this time around, i tried booting using redsn0w, and the same thing happens – it crashes on the pineapple logo.
Can’t get it to boot at all and i’m not looking forward to restoring again. If i restore again, i won’t be jail breaking the device again….
Any solutions?

Jailbreak worked great but now itunes and windows will not detect iphone i keep getting unknown usb device and i tried everything from uninstalling all apple software and files then reinstalling them again …alot of people are experiencing this but no fix ….i been to many sights and all solutions did not work …. i dont think this jailbreak is completely safe i have no way to sync anyone know how to fix this ???? please ….
i jailbroke my iphone 4 5.0.1 using 0.9.10b1,, do i A i need to update to 0.9.10b3? and do i just go straight over the top of 0.9.10b1 with the 0.9.10b3 jailbake installer?
