I advise you to restore as a new iPhone.
No backup restored during the restoration, avoiding any trace of old jailbreak, thus avoiding the sake network, etc..Notes, Contacts (Outlook), pictures, music and applications are managed through iTunes, simply sync your new restoration as a new iPhone to get!
Applications bought on Cydia are related to your UDID so just install them again for free!
Required:
- iPhone 4, iPhone 3GS, iPhone 3G, iPod Touch 2G, 3G and iPod Touch iPad.
- iOS 4x and OS 3x : [ 4.0.1, 4.0, 3.2, 3.2.1, 3.13, 3.1.2, 3.1, 3.0 ]
- Having the SIM card for official iTunes activation.
- ITunes 9.2.1
- Make a sync with iTunes software.
- In Safari settings, disable the popup blocker!
- With your iDevice http://jailbreakme.com/ OR Http://JailbreakMe.ca go with Safari.
- Run the jailbreak your iDevice with the slide!
- A popup is launched, the program takes care of the jailbreak from the server on your iDevice.
- Rebooting your iDevice!
- The application is available on Cydia your springboard your iDevice.
- Finish installing Cydia, why make sure you have an internet connection in 3G or WiFi.
- Unlock with Ultrasn0w with Cydia. (Except iPhone 4 yet)
PS :
- Servers plants, so be patient if there are too many people, the program will not launch the jailbreak from the server on your iDevice!
- Disable any pop-up blocker if this is the case in the Safari settings.
- It works not under iPad 3.2.1
- Loss of MMS for some users (iPhone)!
- Concern for FaceTime application on iPhone 4.
How to Fix: MMS and FaceTime.
- For MMS : Install iPhonedelivery.
- For FaceTime: restore a backup, even if you have set as a new iPhone after a restore, you have synced your contacts again, applications, images and music so you have a backup.
Note: To all the people who can not access the site http://JailbreakMe.com (displaying only the background space), we recommend changing your DNS. To do this you just go to “Settings> Wi-Fi”, click on the blue arrow next to the name of your connection, delete the “numbers” on the DNS field and enter the Google or “8.8.8.8″ (without quotes).

PROBLEM: when I start the jailbreak nothing happens only the purple screen stays. I did it again and again, already restored my iPhone with iTunes! What is wrong? Have 3GS newbootrom and ios 4.01

Here are a few things you could do to fix this problem
close the tab in safari, then close safari
go to Settings > Safari > Clear Cache, Cookies and History
Restart Safari
This time go to JailbreakMe.Modmyi.Com

Interesting fact – i have sim-card from my original operator O2, but tried to jailbreak my phone without it….. and somehow i managed to do this.
3GS 32GB 39Week FW 3.0.1 JB by Dev-Team product
Connected to PC, synchronized with iTunes, upgraded ( not restored ) to latest fw – 4.0.1.
iTunes advised that my sim card is not original one, i have disconnected the phone and it showed me lockscreen. The network was unavailable. Wifi worked well.
Opened safari, visited jailbreakme.modmyi.com, slide waited for 5 min, installed ultrasn0w.
Phone working well. No bugs, no lags.

1. Connect Your iPhone to your Wifi-Network.
2. Open Safari and enter the following adress: your ip
3. follow the instructions on your iPhone
4. close this window after the jailbreak is done … not before or it wont work

i have a purple screen for a few seconds, then safari crashes and then i see my homescreen. i have a: 8gb ipod touch 2g mc model 4.0. and i have ''game center'' on it.
after a lot tries i restartet my ipod tocuh 3g (hold power button and slide to shut off) after that it worked, before that i deletet my cache and cookies, hope that helps

I had the stuck on purple screen issue and the clear history and cookies fix didnt work. What did work was restoring 4.01 again and NOT using a backup, set up as a new phone. Something in an os3x backup seems to break it….

My problem is that i cant unlock the phone.
i have jailbreak it with ultrasn0w and i go in to cydia to add source ultrasn0w and everything works great. then when everything is finish and i reboot the phone and put in the new sim it says i have to connect to itunes because of the sim card. i do that the itunes says that i cant use the sim. i put in the carrier sim then everything works fine. so why cant i unlock the phone??

Once again, people who are stuck on the purple screen, TURN OFF YOU "POP-UP BLOCKER" UNDER SETTINGS. The pop-up blocker is blocking you.

Jailbroke my iphone 3gs new bootrom running ios 4. works flawlessly (minus the servers crashing due to so many people). phone was glitching a little bit so i decided to restore it. after clickingon restore and having intunes download 4.0.1. an error 1611 popped up and my iphone was locked. after a few tries i was finally able to get it to restore and works again. long story short… if you choose to jailbreak with "jailbreakme.com" DO NOT TRY AND RESTORE!
